Pet Boarding

Trust our professional and friendly team to take great care of your pet during your next trip.

At Animal Hospital of Pitt County, we’re proud to offer outstanding boarding services for your beloved pet in addition to comprehensive veterinary care.

We know that each pet is unique, and our veterinary professionals will make every effort to accommodate your pet’s needs and ensure they are safe, happy, and cared for during their stay.

Boarding at Animal Hospital of Pitt County

Your pet’s comfort and well-being are our top priorities. Our dedicated staff uses their knowledge of animal care to keep your pet healthy and happy during their stay.

We offer separate boarding facilities for cats and dogs so our feline friends can have a little peace and quiet during their stay.

Boarding Facilities

We take great pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable facility for your pet.

Our boarding area is temperature-controlled and spacious, and your pet receives frequent care and attention from our friendly, compassionate staff. We also have an outdoor patio and kennel area for play and potty time.

Should any medical problems arise during your pet’s stay, you can have peace of mind that our veterinarians will make sure they are treated appropriately.

Food, Medications, and Personal Items

We encourage you to bring your pet’s normal food if they are on a special diet or if they are particular about what food they eat. We ask that food and treats be in sealed containers or plastic bags. We can store food that requires refrigeration and can heat food if necessary. Food can be provided if needed. For dogs, we offer dry Royal Canin Gi Low Fat dry (for sensitive systems and ease of transition). For cats, we offer dry Feline ProPlan Chicken and Rice.

If your pet has medications, please be sure to bring them with you in the original medication bottle that has your veterinarian’s information on them. Our staff will administer oral, topical, and injectable medications as close as possible to your pets’ normal schedule. If your pet has a medication that is administered only as needed, we strongly recommend that you bring it. There is no extra charge for administering medications.

You may bring personal items such as toys, bones, or beds. Often pets are more comfortable with something that smells like home. We ask that you NOT bring items that are irreplaceable. We use a bleach solution to sanitize our laundry and will launder items if they become soiled. Items may be removed if they are aggressively chewed to prevent ingestion. Note: Please consider your pets’ accommodation size when bringing pet beds.

Boarding Requirements

All boarding guests must be up-to-date on vaccinations. If your pet requires any vaccinations before staying with us, we are happy to provide the vaccines for an additional fee.

We require dogs to be up-to-date on:

  • Canine Distemper/Parvovirus
  • Rabies
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

We require cats to be up-to-date on:

  • Feline Distemper
  • Rabies vaccines

*We recommend having your pet(s) vaccinated 7-10 days prior to coming in. If the pet is due for vaccinations required for boarding, and records are not provided at time of drop off, they will be updated and the cost of the vaccine will be added to the bill.

Reservations are preferred, especially during holidays, but we can generally accommodate last-minute or emergency boarding needs.

Our boarding facility is open whenever the office is open and specific pick-up times are available by appointment.

Please note, we require a deposit of half the reservation fee for 1st time reservations, extended stays, and during holidays.

Reservations are required prior to dropoff, schedule in advance now.
